Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
Pbj
I was given a PBJ back in Jan of last year. I am currently applying for a job and not sure if a PBJ means that I was convicted or not. There is the standard question on the application that ask is I have been convicted of a felony in the last 7 years. I was charged with Theft Scheme over $500 and ordered to pay restitution. Can you please explain to me exactly what a PBJ means and if it is considered a conviction? Thank you

Re: Pbj
PBJ means probation before judgment. It is not a conviction. You must comply with the conditions of probation, pay restitution, etc.
