Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
If a person was arrested in a criminal case and several years later the case was reopend for Reconsideration of Sentences what does that mean?

It means that the defendant has asked the court to reconsider and modify his/her sentence. This can only be done within 5 years after the sentence, and the sentence can be left alone, be reduced, but not increased.
