Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
Police Questioning
What are my legal rights when being questioned by the police?
I was walking down the street with a bottle of alcohol totally concealled in a paper bag, when an officer stopped me, and asked ''whats in the bag?'' I responded ''none of your business.'' I was then searched without my consent. Was I in the wrong? What are my rights?

You were not wrong in not telling a police officer what was in a bag you were holding. He had no right to search your bag without your consent. If he charged you with any violation of the law, contact a criminal defense attorney, like myself, immediately.
