Possesion of Marijuana

I was charged with possession of marijuana when i was with a friend who had gotten pulled over for speeding. We were smoking in the car and the officer searched the car and im not sure what he found becuase he did not display anything for us to see, but i was searched and they found nothing on me, I was takin to jail but am not sure why they charged me with possession. I want to know how I go about this in court?

you probably want to speak with an attorney, as all occupants of the vehicle can potentially be found guilty of possession.

The first thing you need to do in this case, or any criminal case, is file a motion for discovery. Next get a copy of the chemist report. Next file motion to suppress evidence of search and seizure. Next, get a list of witnesses and prepare their testimony for direct examination and cross. Next prepare motions for judgment of acquittal at the end of the State's case. If you don't think you can do all of this, then get a criminal lawyer, such as myself.
