possession
I've been charged with possesion of marijuana by being in the passenger side of a car when the driver was arrested for a traffic violation and they found marijuana in her purse that she had behind her driver seat how??? she amitted to owning the drug to the police and said i had nothing to do with it

Theoretically you could be in constructive possession, but you should get a lawyer to look at this.
