Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

Was pulled over by the Maryland police for my headlight being out. Because of the area that I was in having the reputation of a drug dealing area, my car and purse were then searched. Inside my purse, I had a smaller coin purse that was opened by the police officer and inside he found a straw and a razor. He gave me a ticket at the time and let me go. I received a trial date for the charge of possision of drug parafanailia. What might I expect as a result of these charges. What time or sentence may I be facing. Waiting anxiously for a reply. Thank You

Unless you gave the officer permission to search your purse, based on what you have indicated, the search was illegal. Just because you are in a high crime area, you don't lose any of your constitutional rights. You should immediately see a criminal lawyer, like myself, on how to defend this case.
