Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
While on probation....
A friend is on probation. The problem is that my friend went to a trucking school, graduated and sometimes drives out the state that he lives. Is that a violation of parole? Should his parolee had advised him of this regulation.

Re: While on probation....
The vast majority of people placed on probation are done so with the standard condition that they cannot leave the state of Maryland without first notifying their P.O. This would have been noted in the paperwork provided by the court. Thus, he probably should know that he can't leave the state without permission and should notify his P.O. If he is facing a violation of probation, he does have a right to a lawyer and should consider hiring one.
