Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
Purely hypothetically speaking, as a resident of the European Union, may I be charged in the United States when carrying a completely harmless, but visually 'bomb-like', electronic device on my person?
I restate that the device is completely harmless, but has been engineered to present itself as an explosive device on first glance to deter potential thieves.
Thank you in advance!

That would depend on the circumstances. I can imagine plenty of scenarios in which carrying such a device would at least arguably be a crime, and plenty in which it wouldn't.
