Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

Question about when a warrant for my arrest will expire

In 1999 I was arrested at Ocean City, Maryland for open container. Later, I recieved a summons to court and went, pleading guilty. The fine I recieved was $155. I have never paid this fine and it is now the year 2005. I have just recieved a reminder from the Worchester County Sheriff's Office that there is an active warrant for my arrest and if I pay the $155 the warrant will be recinded. My question is: will this warrant eventually expire or do I have to pay this to make it disappear. I figure it must be expiring soon- its been almost 6 years and they must be trying to milk me for this money before its too late... Thanks for the information

Pay the fine before you are stopped one day and arrested in Maryland...if this happens you'll spend thousands of dollars in court costs and attorney fees not to mention, possibility of jail, as well as incuring plenty of aggravation in regards to this petty matter.

It doesn't expire. If you never ever intend to go to Maryland again, well...that's up to you. Otherwise, just pay it and get it over with.
