Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
Questions regarding the Armed Career Criminal Act
I know someone that had taken stolen guns across state lines (accomplice) and had been charged and sentenced to 15 years. The judge said that because of the ACCA, that was the absolute minimum that he could be charged. Is this true?
Additionally, the man that actually stole the guns was given a ''deal'', not charged for the felony, and given 6 months probation. How is this even legal?
