Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

seized cash

what are my options if the police seize my cash, i was not in possesion of any legal substances, nor was the friend of mine who i was with. this is not the first time the police took my cash either, i am unemployed but recently got a settlement check for a motor vehicle accident i was in. i had no more then 400 dollars on me, and i told the officers i had proof that it is not drug money. it has been little over a month and i still have no recieved a reciept from the local police dept. stating how much cash they took from me. This is not the first time this has happend to me, and to be honest i am scared of the police, i called numerous times trying to state my case to them and not once was i connected with the person i needed to speak with.

Re: seized cash

The State will not be able to get a forfeiture on your property unless they have proof that it is connected to drugs. You need to contact a criminal attorney if you want to fight this.
