Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
My son's girlfriend tried to get relief through the courts to get a protective order against her mother, who enters her residence un invited, steals from her, verbally harasses her and threatens her. She was told she had to file domestic violence, but her mother does not live with her so the judge would not give her relief and told her she can not get relief through protective order or peace order. How can she keep this woman from being on her property and the verbal harassment and threats? We are in Salisbury MD.

Change the locks. If she breaks in, call the police and report a break in, assuming her name is not on the residence. If her name is on the residence, move. Spend the consultation fee and talk to an attorney.
