Statement of charges

Although a Statement of Charges carries no weight in a Trial, as the officer must testify in person, it carries 100% of the weight in whether or not the State's Attorney pursues the matter in Court, as it is the only thing they have to go on at this point. That is why it is extremely important for you to have a lawyer, so that a defense can begin, and in some cases the lawyer can influence the charges brought by the State's Attorney.
