Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
state's atty
When a lawyer is contacted by the state's atty's office to inform them of charges being brought to their client, are the charges revealed to the lawyer at that time?

Until the Defendant, or through his attorney, receives copies of the formal charges on paper, it's only talk. The State and Defense Counsel can talk charges all they want with no formal ramifications. So I suppose the answer to your question is "not necessarily." Please provide more info.
