Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

Summoned to court by State of Maryland for Criminal Case

Earlier this year my ex boyfriend arrived at my home and assaulted me, as well as kidnapped me, and sexual violated me. He was charged with Assault, Kidnapping, and 4th degree Sexual Offense. My current boyfriend was also Assaulted and Assaulted Charges were pressed on his behalf. We now have been summonsed to court was witnesses for said event. Can you please describe what all will happen at this court hearing? I am very nervous about it and the anticpation is eating away at me. Will I have to repeat the entire story again in front of everyone? What kind of questions will they ask me?

Basically, you could you please describe in through detail what this experience will be like for me? Is there anything I should know? Will I be compensated for my lost wages?

Will I be put on the scene by his attorney asking me questions to try and get him out of trouble? What kind of things is she allowed to ask me? Do I have a right to not answer questions that I feel aren't pertinent to the case?

Any knowledge would be great! I am extremely nervous and really don't know what to expect! This will be my first time going to court! I've never even been for a traffic violation or anything. Please let me know all that you can! Thank you in advance
