Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
Summons
If someone has charged me through a County Court Commissioner, and I don't pick up my summons, what will happen? These allegations are totally false. A mutual friend informed me that this person went to the local Commissioners office and swore out charges. I keep getting Certified Mail notices from my Post Office.

Re: Summons
Depending on the nature of the charges, an arrest warrant may be issued.

Summons
As a courtesy to you, to save you the embarrassment of the police showing up at your door, you have been issued a summons. Failure to take advantage of the courtesy could result with the police finding you and handing you the summons, or the issue of an arrest warrant.
