Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

theft

my husband and i were charged with theft +500, but the police report says we didn't take the item and left it. we were told the item was trash and we were going to take it but once someone told us different we left it, the report says we fled but we actually stood there and talk to the people about the item, is it likely this will proceed to a trial ?

This depends on what happens once your lawyer gets to talk to the prosecutor. If you can convince them that their witnesses would testify that you didn't take the items, it could get droped. You do have a lawyer for these felony charges, don't you?
