Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

theft over 500

i am 22 with no prior record at all. i was caught stealing 613.00 of items from costco. I was charged and am seeing a comissioner in court in a week and she will go over my attorney options and give me my real court date. However i really only walked out with a game(70) a mopvie(30) and a movie pack(80) but someone else took the game out of an xbox console package and i saw it sitting on the shelf, they charged me for the 400 console pack. if that does or doesnt make a difference what is the expected outcome of all of this, and what is this pre trial hearing with a comissioner entail. and when should i contact a lawyer?

You should get an attorney as soon as possible. With no prior record, an attorney may be able to convince to state to drop the charges against you for community service, etc. And if there are any legal or factual issues with the case, a lawyer is invaluable to helping you try and beat the charges.
