Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
Theft - less than $500
My son 19 left the store with a shirt on his shoulder and tried to give it back, but was charged stealing the shirt.He missed the court date due to final exams and was arrested. He was ordered to appear for another trial and dont have a lawyer. What punishment would the judge order since he's never been in trouble before?

Theft - less than $500
Your son could get up to 18 months in jail. More important, he will have a criminal conviction which will follow him the rest of his life. He should contact a criminal lawyer to assist him in this matter.
