Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
Traffic Offense Requiring A Court Hearing
I was stopped by a police for the following violation:Failure to display reg. card Charge:Ta13409B; Driving Uninsured Vechile Charge:TA17107; Unauthorised display & use of reg. plates Charge:TA13703G; Operating unregistered motor vehicle Charge:TA13401B. I was involved in a hit&run accident by an uninsured motorist my car was totaled.I was given another car that was not registered. The hit & run accident created some serious financial problems for me in earning an income to meet financial obligations. I was driving a car that was not registered but was insured and I have proof. The tags did belong to me and were registered to my car that was totaled. My question is How should this case be handled legally? Do I need to hire an attorney verses seeking counsel from the Public Defender's Office. I am self employed and at the time I was stopped I was working trying to re-establish my business that was loss because of the accident and medical expenses.

Re: Traffic Offense Requiring A Court Hearing
If you qualify for the Public Defender, give them a call. If not, give a private attorney a call.
