Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

Traffic stop and arrest

I was parked in a neighborhood...lights off, 1030 pm and raining not really being a good citizen, but still. A cop pulled behind me and approached my vehicle. After some time my car ended up getting searched and i went to jail. I have heard that since the cop turned his lights on behind me that made it a stop and he had no reason traffic violation to stop me. can i get anything found thrown out for a bad stop?

Re: Traffic stop and arrest

If the officer did not have probable cause to arrest you or search your vehicle, and if there was no violation of the traffic laws that would allow him to make a traffic stop, then generally any evidence found could be suppressed. But there are many exceptions and modifications to these principles, so you should get an experienced lawyer to provide the best possible defense.
