This is a common problem since Maryland Motor Vehicles has updated their computer system. They are finding a lot of failure to appears on old tickets and now will not allow you to renew your license. Actually your license is probably suspended and there is an arrest warrant out for you from 17 years ago. What must be done is that an attorney, like myself, must petition the court to lift the bench warrant and have your case set in for a hearing. Explain to the Judge what happened and have him either dismiss the charges or give you probation before judgment. Then you can renew your license.
