possession of alcohol as a minor
I was charged with possession of alcohol as a minor. I
unknowingly had it in my vehicle and it was unopened. is that
fair?

Life's not fair. It does not matter whether or not the alcohol container is open or not. If you are under 21 it is a crime to have it in your car.
