Serving a sentence in another state
A friend recently was arrested and found guilty of DWI. He was in Pa but lives in MD. He was sentenced in Pa. He has to serve 15 days with work release and home detention. He has a lawyer but the has not informed him of how he needs to proceed to do his time in MD. Can he serve his 15 days in MD and shouldn't his lawyer pursue that option?

Jail time will not be served in other states, unless this was a federal case and he was sentenced to the Fed BOP. He will most likely have to serve the work release in PA, but may be able to do the home detention in MD if that is where his home is located.
