Legal Question in Education Law in Maryland
Hi I attend UMUC and I have a project regarding Paralegals and Unauthorized Practice of Law (UPL). We are focusing on Paralegals giving legal advice. My question is, is it still considered legal advice if the client never asked? what if the paralegal just made a statement like "With all of these assets, perhaps you need more than a simple will, more like an Estate Plan"

As long as the paralegal in your example is working under the employ of an attorney licensed in good standing, the paralegal's actions are not UPL.
Best of luck.
