I am named as an agent in an advance directive. Do I need to revoke the authority if I did not execute the document.

An agent cannot revoke an advance directive or health care power of attorney (only the principal can). However, an agent cannot be forced to serve. If the first named agent is unavailable to serve, then typically the successor agent steps in.
