Legal Question in Elder Law in Maryland

I read that in the state of Maryland, the Personal Representative/Executor should actually reside in MARYLAND- otherwise the out of state Personal Representative/Executor must pay a MARYLAND RESIDENT to do the leg work and heavy lifting. Who do you "hire" if Maryland relatives are NOT willing?

The Personal Representative must reside in Maryland, or appoint someone in Maryland to accept service of process. That does not mean that the Personal Representative cannot do the actual work but that someone in state must be available to receive official notifications and other paperwork.

Oftentimes the law firm handling the estate can serve as the resident agent if the Personal Representative lives out of state.
