If a 16 year old divorce child is currently living with his mom does he/she have the right to ask to live with his birth-fathers parents?

The child can request it, and at that age the court will give deference to the child's wishes, but there is still a preference to have a child reside with his/her parent. The court will ultimately do what is in the best interest of the child.
