Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Hello my 21 year old son was was killed in an automobile accident august 2008 while working on his job,his wife has a pending lawsuit against the company, her attorney wants me and his father to sign papers stating that we wont sue her for any portion of the money, what's the reasons why we are asked to sign those papers? and are we entitled to some money or legal actions?

I don't know why your daughter-in-law's attorney is asking you to sign; you should ask him/her. In any event, you don't have a claim in this case, because your son was an adult and you were not his dependents. His wife and any children have claims, and his estate has a claim for certain things. Unless by some remote chance he had written a will and you were his primary beneficiaries, you wouldn't be entitled to anything from the estate.
