The absent parent's marriage has no impact on his obligation to pay child support, although his income is a factor. You must file a court petition asking for child support. If you were not married to one another at the time, you must also ask the court to establish his paternity (that he is the father;I assume you are the mother). You will have to be able to locate him in order to serve court papers on him for this proceeding. If you are able to do so and bring him within the court's jurisdiction, any child support order you receive can include an earnings withholding order. That requires his employer to withhold the child support from his paycheck and send it to you.
