Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland
access to bank accounts
My husband has 2 bank accounts of which my name is not on them. I am seeking a divorce and have no money due to raising our 6 children at home. I have contacted the pro bono office and referral services to no avail. I am able to gain access to the bank accounts?

Re: access to bank accounts
Not without your name on the accounts. If you're getting divorced, you can subpoena the bank records. Have you already filed for divorce? Get whatever information you can get showing he has these accounts (and any other financial information - including tax returns, pay stubs, etc. - you can get your hands on) and petition the court for pendente lite child support and alimony. Call if you would like to discuss more in-depth.
