Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland
alimony enforcement
My ex has dropped the alimony amount from $2000 per mo to $300 per mo, and is taking me to court to reduce or eliminate support due to ''his inability to find a job''. Do I need an attorney to fight this, or is there a court department that will defend me?

You don't say what county you're in, but you may contact your local pro bono organization (contact your county court clerk's office and ask for the number of a family law pro bono clinic). If you meet the income requirements, you may qualify for free or reduced-fee representation.

There will be no one to defend you unless you retain a lawyer for the hearing.
