Your question was really too lacking in details to answer fully. But it's common in contracts and loan documents for there to be language which says that the rights and obligations of the parties go to their heirs. For example, if you take out a mortgage to buy a house, and you die, leaving the house to your next of kin, the mortgage will still have to be paid or you will lose the house. By contrast, if you have a credit card just in your name and you die, the credit card company can try to collect from anything you leave in your estate, but they can't go after your next of kin's property to collect the account.
