What cam I claim in small claims court?

I recently was awarded emergeny custody of my 10 yr old daughter after my ex-wife left the state and took her to NC. In the custody hearing I asked for lawyers fees and back child support,but now I want to get the money I spent on gas and lodging when I went to NC to pick up my daughter also I would like to be compensated for mental angish. My question is can I claim the gas and lodging expenses and what are the limits for mental angish. What is the total limit for a small claims case. Thank You !!!!

Small claims court has jurisdiction over cases worth up to $2500. You will not collect mental anguish in this case, and your claim for the other expenses is tenuous. Be grateful if you're able to collect your attorney's fees from your ex.
