Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland
I caught my husband exposing himself to the neighbor twice today, right in front of me. This act seems consensual between the two of them. I have been married to this man for 11 years (Maryland)
I want a divorce. What are my rights?

That behavior, by itself, is not grounds for divorce. Of course, if they are having an affair, that would be adultery, which would be grounds. If you are prepared to separate and can work out an agreement with him over the terms, you would be eligible for a divorce after 1 year of uninterrupted separation. If there has been a pattern of behavior on his part that has essentially made it impossible to stay together, and especially if you have been living separate lives for all practical purposes, you could claim that he deserted the marriage, and if either he leaves or you leave, you would be eligible after 1 year. If there are children involved or property that must be considered, you should consult a family attorney to discuss these aspects.
