Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

changing name

I filed for my son's last name to be changed 30 days ago. The mother never filed a complaint. Do i now need to file for default or will it automatically be looked at by the judge without filing for default? Any help will be appreciated.

Re: changing name

If the initial order did not require you to post a notice in a newspaper, and the time for responding has expired, you should check with the clerk's office at the courthouse to make sure an order is being presented to the duty judge for signature. It may be your responsibility to prepare such an order, or in your county they may have a form order you can use.
