Changing the last name of a minor child

Can I change the last name of my child to my last name do to the fact that i have legal and physical full custody of her and her father has nothing to do with her?

Re: Changing the last name of a minor child

You can do this by filing a petition in the circuit court in your county. You may have to publish a notice of the petition so that anyone who wants to object, such as the father, will have notice of the suit.
