Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

child custody

my ex & I have joint custody with the kids staying with me 67% of the time. My children are 14 & almost 17 years of age. Can they change the order if they don't want to go to go to the other parents home on the designated day (s)? Do I have to go to court to do this?

Re: child custody

You will have to go to court to modify court-ordered custody unless your ex will agree to this. The older child is almost emancipated (18) so s/he can essentially dictate who he/she lives with.
