I have Sole Physical Custody of my son and Joint Legal Custody, is the father legally allowed to take my son out of the country for vacation if I oppose?

Re: Child Custody

Unless his doing so would endanger the child or is not within the terms of visitation set forth in any agreement or court order you have, it isn't illegal. As joint legal custodians, you are supposed to cooperate with one another on decisions regarding your son. Obviously, if you request it, he should provide you with a complete itinerary of the trip and contact information. If you can't agree on this, you could submit the issue to a mediator or even go back to court for a judicial determination.
