Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Last Name for my Child

I am about to have my first child. The father and I are involved but not married. When our daughter is born what name should I give her. If I give her mine and he is legally declared as her father will her name change when we get married? If I give her his last name and it doesn't work out how difficult is it for me to change her name back to mine?

You can give her either last name, but thereafter if you want to change it, you'll have to file a court petition and go through that process to do so.
