Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Child support determination

How is child support determined for two kids in the state of Maryland? My lawyer never gave me supporting documentation to show how much my ex. is making.

Re: Child support determination

Child support is determined from a schedule which takes into account the pre-tax income of both parents. The two incomes are combined on a monthly basis, and the schedule gives you the basic child support amount depending on the # of children. If one parent is providing health insurance, the premium is deducted from his/her income. Then if there are day care expenses or unreimbursed medical expenses, those costs are added on to the basic amount. Then, the total amount of support due is split between the parents proportional to their income.
