If the circuit court entered a child support order, he cannot avoid support simply by filing an appeal. He would also have to file a bond and seek a stay of the child support order to be able to do this. If he has a regular job from which he gets a paycheck from an employer, you can ask for an earnings withholding order from the circuit court. Once entered, it would be sent to the employer, who would then be required to withhold the support payments from his paycheck. You could also ask for the arrearage he's built up by continued nonpayment to be included in the withholding order. If he doesn't work or is self-employed, that makes it more difficult. You could ask the court to give you a money judgment for the back support and then try to attach any bank account you can locate.
