child support laws

i am aUS citizen. my girl friend is from sweden visiting. she is about to give birth. am i responsible for child support?

If she's returning to Sweden, their laws would determine that, although she could file a petition here as well.

Is she planning on residing here in the United States? If so, bearing in mind any future plans for co-habitation and any private agreement between you, she could file a petition in court here for support. If she moves back to Sweden, Swedish law applies. Good luck and congratulations on the impending birth of your child.

If she opted to reside in US than she may claim child support and in case if she returned to Swedan than in this regard sweden laws will apply
