Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Child Support

I live in Maryland have custody of my 11 y.o. son and my X wife is now living in Arizona. I don't receive child support from her and everytime the state gets all the paper work processed thru the other state she quits her job avoiding the wage garinshment order. She is now remarried and her husband is employed. Can I try to collect child support and or the arrears from her husband? In most cases any debt incurred after marriage are joint debts. Can child support and child support arrears be considered joint debt?Does her husband bear any responsibility for her financially?

Re: Child Support

Your ex's new husband bears no responsibility legally for the support of your child and cannot be required to contribute. All you can hope for is that she resumes employment, or that she has a separate bank account which you could attach if you obtain a judgment against her.
