Child Support if living now in California

I was married for 10 years in Maryland and the divorce and child support proceedings have not been finalised. I have now lived in California for over one year. Can I file for formal child support in the state of California or must I continue with Maryland since it has been in process already?

If your spouse is still in MD the case stays there.
