Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

child support

my NCP has had support order since June 03. After not receiving any money from NCP in Dec. all the sudden they made a $100.00 payment. After that, they quit their job and no longer made anymore payments. On Jan 8th, I filed for contempt. Now the NCP all the sudden goes out and gets a new job, 2 days after the contempt order was signed. However, the support order is for 450 a month andthey are only making $43.00 payments per pay period. Should I continue with the contempt or file and state they are paying and see if they start making reg. payments after they have been established there for a little while? If she is still making payments at the time of the hearing, what would likely happen in court especially if she is making a payment that is a whole lot less then the support order.

Re: child support

It would be a good idea to keep the contempt hearing open. That way an arrearage amount can be set and repayment can begin.

I would also consider having an attorney if you are not already represented by one or by domestic relations.
