Re: child support

Your child support obligation is determined by first combining the incomes of the parents on a monthly basis before taxes. That amount determines the amount of basic support to which the child or children are entitled, according to a scheduled set forth in the MD child support law. To that amount can be added such things as day care expenses and medical expenses not covered by insurance. You didn't indicate if the newest child is with a mother to whom you are already paying court ordered support. If so, the amount of that order will be adjusted to the amount for 2 children. If this will be the first child with this woman, the court setting the amount in that case will have to factor in what you are already paying under the existing order.
