Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland
childrens health insurance premiums
if a person was ordered to pay one half of the childrens health insurance premiums at a cost only stated by the opposing side, but has never produced actual costs. and through research, has found that it is very possible that the person is paying more than half of the premiums and actually the entire premium. without have to go to court first, does this person have any rights to get the actual premium and coverage from the opposing side. the opposing side has continually made up excuses of why they have not given copies of insurance cards, payments, reciepts etc. would this information be available through the code of non-custodial parents rights to medical records. if the opposing side is not obligated to produce this information, could the person ordered to pay the one half of the premiums take the opposing side to court for stating to the courts that a payment is higher than the actual premium? I hope this made sense?

Re: childrens health insurance premiums
You should have received a statement or bill indicating how much was being paid for health insurance at the time you entered into the agreement/order for your support obligation. There is no code of non-custodial parents rights to medical records. If you have joint legal custody, you are entitled to medical information on the child(ren). It is possible to revisit your child support obligation and confirm at that point how much is being paid for medical insurance. However, you will have to file with the court. Call if I can be of assistance.
