Is there such a thing as commonlaw marriage in the state of maryland after years of cohabitation?

You cannot establish a common law in Maryland, however, if you established your common law marriage in a jurisdiction that allows you to start a common law marriage (like DC) then Maryland will recognize the common law marriage. I hope that makes sense to you.
