Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

"In your complaint you would ask for an order requiring him to contribute to the mortgage, particularly the delinquency. Once he's out, part of his child support payment would be treated as housing costs for the children. MD has child support guidelines which provide a standard amount that the children are entitled to, prorated by the respective parents' incomes. For example, if the custodial parent of 2 children makes $3750/mo pre-tax, and the non-custodial parent makes $11250, the non-custodial parent's child support obligation would be @$2150/mo. Of course, when the 16-yr-olds reach 18 or graduate from high school, whichever happens last (but not to exceed age 19), his child support obligation ends".

Thank you for this answer, but with my twins, my daughter may be graduating in May and wants to attend college in the fall. So would he only be required to pay for her twin brother who wants to go back and forth between both homes? My daughter has emotional issues and applied to graduate early but she will still only be 16 and may or may not be going to college.? how would that work?

He still has to support her until she's 18. As for her brother, if there is shared custody and each parent has at least 35% of overnights, he would pay on a different schedule, and the total amount would be less.
